淡薰衣草紫的螢石為這件標本封頂——那是一組雙晶，兩顆立方體互相貫穿，稜邊彼此錯開，在每個晶面上都拉出一道淺淺的階梯。顏色柔和而不濃烈：薄角處近乎透明如水，光線與你之間隔的物質愈多，色澤便愈聚成紫。其下的母岩是帶光澤的棕黑色錫礦，點綴著淡黃綠色的微晶，右側還楔著一顆乳白色石英晶體。
螢石（CaF2）屬等軸晶系，像這樣的貫穿雙晶是瑤崗仙一種值得追尋的習性：兩個單體共用同一晶格、彼此旋轉錯開，因而凹角讀來就像乾淨俐落的階梯。莫氏硬度 4、具完全的八面體解理，意味著在其他較硬礦種毫髮無損之處它就會受傷——請讓它遠離堅硬檯面與過緊的陳列格。
