一座白色的方解石尖塔以層層外張的疊層自這件瑤崗仙小標本的頂端攀升，經過十來層如貨架般的樓層漸次收窄至一個鈍尖——這正是收藏家所稱的寶塔狀方解石，而這一件是教科書式的呈現。下方，煙丁香紫的螢石立方體構成標本的主體，平坦的白色方解石板則如花瓣般向側面散開。
這種層疊來自方解石以脈衝方式生長，每一新層都比下面一層略寬地鋪開，直到碳酸鹽的供應轉弱，下一輪才又開始。方解石（CaCO3）莫氏硬度 3，具完全的菱面體解理，即使稀酸也會起反應；其下的螢石（CaF2）則為莫氏硬度 4。請讓這件標本遠離超音波清洗機與任何家用清潔液。
體積小巧，3.8 × 3.0 × 3.3 cm，重 30 g，以黏土膠固定在圖中的透明壓克力方塊上，底座隨標本一同寄出。這些畫面拍的就是標本本身，尖塔完好無損。
