一道血紅色六邊形晶體構成的礦脈斜貫這塊摩洛哥砂岩小楔塊，每顆釩鉛礦晶體都是寬 2 至 5 毫米的矮胖六方板狀，底面明亮如鏡。晶體稀疏之處便由岩石接手：粉玫瑰色的砂岩上點綴著黑色的樹枝狀錳氧化物，而在生長最豐盛的區域下方，還有一道鏽色的鐵染條帶。
釩鉛礦是氯釩酸鉛，Pb5(VO4)3Cl，只在鉛礦床於近地表緩慢氧化的環境中形成，釩則多半來自周圍的圍岩。位於中阿特拉斯山米德勒特附近的米布拉登（Mibladen），正是它的經典產地。晶體莫氏硬度約 3，質地偏軟，稜邊脆弱，因此請在燈下轉動觀賞，而不要在眾人手中傳遞。
晶板尺寸 3.3 × 3.3 × 3.3 cm，重 25 g。隨附圖中的透明壓克力方塊，以一塊綠色博物館黏土固定，可乾淨地取下。您所看到的照片，就是實際出貨的標本。
