一階、一錯、再一階：透明的螢石立方體在這叢北京晶簇上角接著角向上攀爬，稜邊呈稻草般的淡色，兩三枚重疊之處則加深為溫暖的蜜金，每一個晶面都亮得足以映光，也清透得足以顯出其後的立方體。數道內部生長面上封存著細微的礦物絮狀物與鏽色薄膜，整叢晶體坐落在粗糙的鐵褐色母岩上，母岩本身還點綴著同樣金色的小晶體。
這裡沒有一處是玻璃般純淨的：數枚立方體的核心留有淡色的生長雲霧，不少稜邊因晶體彼此嵌生而呈階狀或缺口。螢石為 CaF2，等軸晶系，莫氏硬度 4，其完全的八面體解理意味著磕碰晶角時剝落的是乾淨的三角形薄片，而非崩口。有些螢石在紫外線下會發螢光，有些則不會；這一件值得實測，而非想當然。
整體尺寸 5.8 × 5.6 × 3.5 cm，重 109 g，母岩底面平整，無需支撐便能穩置於層架上。照片如實拍攝：您所見的晶簇，就是您將收到的晶簇。
