Über diese Stufe
Ein steiler bernsteinfarbener Kristall beherrscht das Stück: ein Calcit-Skalenoeder in der Farbe von starkem Tee, durchscheinend genug, dass sich das Licht in seinem Inneren sammelt, die Flächen glatt bis auf einen feinen Anflug von Eisenoxid. Die linke Flanke hinauf steigt eine Treppe kleiner lachsrosa Calcite, jeder ein gedrungener, gestufter Kristall von nur wenigen Millimetern, und dahinter füllt cremeweißer Calcit die Lücken.
Farbe im Calcit ist fast immer eine Frage der Spurenelemente: Schon geringste Mengen Eisen und Mangan reichen aus, um ihn von wasserklar nach Honig, Bernstein oder Rosa zu führen, und beide Töne sind hier an einem Stück zu sehen. Calcit ist mit Mohs 3 weich, spaltet vollkommen nach drei Richtungen und löst sich schon in schwacher Säure – halten Sie Haushaltsreiniger und Essig weit davon fern.
Die Stufe misst 5,6 x 5,1 x 4,6 cm und wiegt 115 g; sie steht sicher auf ihrer natürlichen Basis, ein Ständer gehört nicht dazu. Fotografiert genau so, wie sie steht, ist dieser Calcit das Stück, das an Sie geht.
