Über diese Stufe
Die Ätzung hat diesen kleinen Fluorit aus Xianghualing so weit abgerundet, dass die Würfelkanten eher wie Schultern wirken als wie Ecken, und die blass fliederfarbenen Flächen haben eine satinierte Haut angenommen, die das Licht streut statt es zu spiegeln. Zwei Nischen mit cremefarbener Druse sitzen in der Front wie eingesetzte Steine.
Diese Mattierung ist kein Schaden. Späte Lösungen, die nach dem Wachstum des Fluorits durch die Kluft zogen, nahmen die Kristalle noch einmal in Arbeit, lösten die Flächen ungleichmäßig an und hinterließen die gerundeten, texturierten Oberflächen, die Sie hier sehen – eine Ausbildung, die Xianghualing häufig hervorbringt und die Sammler gezielt suchen. Fluorit (CaF2) ist mit Mohs 4 weich und spaltet glatt nach vier oktaedrischen Richtungen: Eine angestoßene Ecke splittert nicht, sie blättert ab.
Kompakt mit 3,3 cm × 2,0 cm × 3,3 cm und 35 g. Fotografiert auf einem klaren Acrylblock mit einem Tupfer weißer Montageknete; das Stück auf diesen Aufnahmen ist das, was Sie auspacken werden.
