Über diese Stufe
Weißer Quarz überschwemmt dieses Stück aus Zhejiang von außen nach innen: Hunderte kleiner, wasserklarer Spitzen drängen sich in der unteren Hälfte und an beiden Flanken. Dahinter erscheint der Fluorit – blass seegrüne Würfel in Stufen übereinander, mehrere an den Ecken von einem dichten Violett bedeckt, das entlang der Oberkante fast bis ins Tintenschwarze nachdunkelt. Zusammen schließen sich die beiden Minerale zu einem grob herzförmigen Umriss.
Zhejiang neigt dazu, seinen Fluorit mit reichlich spät gewachsenem Quarz zu kombinieren, und das ist ebenso praktisch wie ansehnlich – Fluorit (CaF2) hat nur Mohshärte 4 bei vollkommener oktaedrischer Spaltbarkeit, seine Ecken splittern also bei einem Stoß, während der Quarz, der ringsum Wache steht, Mohshärte 7 erreicht. Die grün-violette Zonierung hält Wechsel in der Lösung fest, aus der die Würfel wuchsen: Farbe, Fläche für Fläche abgelegt.
