Über diese Stufe
Der Fluorit ist hier kaum gefärbt – blassgrüngrau und wässrig, eher Fensterglas als Edelstein – und er wächst als Treppe aus Würfeln, deren Flächen jeweils in flachen, parallelen Stufen gegeneinander versetzt sind. Dort, wo die Kristalle das Gestein berühren, ist dunkelgrüner Chlorit in ihnen eingeschlossen und über die Matrix darunter verstäubt; am rechten Rand sitzt eine kleine Gruppe cremerosa Karbonatkristalle.
Dieser Chlorit ist eine Handschrift von Yaogangxian: Fluorit aus der Grube wuchs häufig gemeinsam mit dem grünen, glimmerartigen Mineral, das die Matrix überzieht und als weiche innere Schleier in die Kristalle hineinzieht. Fluorit ist CaF2, Mohshärte 4, mit vollkommener Spaltbarkeit nach dem Oktaeder – die scharfen Würfelecken eines solchen Stücks sind das Erste, was ein unachtsamer Moment im Regal kostet.
Kompakt mit 5,6 × 3,8 × 4,3 cm und 74 g, aufrecht auf einem klaren Acrylsockel gezeigt, der die Würfel auf Augenhöhe hält. Die Aufnahmen zeigen genau diese Gruppe.
