Über diese Stufe
Yaogangxian purple fluorite with quartz at 49 g; a small cabinet piece with a gentle colour.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Rock crystal is judged on termination quality, clarity and how the crystals sit together, and the Chinese localities have raised the bar on all three.
Few localities carry the weight of Yaogangxian: a Hunan tungsten mine whose fluorite, quartz, arsenopyrite and pyrite specimens sit in every serious collection.
Dimensions place it in the small cabinet range, 5.9 × 3.6 × 2.7 cm (2.32 × 1.42 × 1.06 in) and 49 g (1.7 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Every specimen here is photographed and catalogued individually before listing.
