Über diese Stufe
Jeder Würfel dieser Gruppe trägt den violetten Schatten eines älteren, kleineren Würfels in sich. Der äußere Fluorit ist wasserklar und an den Ecken leicht gestuft; das Phantom schwebt als weiches violettes Quadrat mit unscharfen Rändern in der Mitte, und ein Dutzend Kristalle über die Stufe verteilt hält jeweils seinen eigenen inneren Schatten. Die ganze Gruppe ruht auf einer olivkhakifarbenen Drusenkruste, die jede Lücke zwischen den Würfeln ausfüllt.
Ein Phantom markiert eine Pause. Der Fluorit wuchs zunächst violett, das Wachstum stockte lange genug, damit sich ein Film von Fremdstoffen auf den Kristallflächen absetzen konnte, dann setzte klarer Fluorit auf demselben Gitter wieder an und schloss die alte Oberfläche ein. Yaogangxian, die Wolframgrube im Süden Hunans, ist die klassische chinesische Fundstelle für diese Tracht aus Klar über Violett, und nur wenige Minerale protokollieren ihr eigenes Wachstum so deutlich.
Die Stufe misst 5,8 × 2,3 × 5,3 cm und wiegt 152 g. Der abgebildete klare Acryl-Präsentationsblock gehört dazu, und alle Aufnahmen stammen von dieser einen Stufe.
