Grelles Limonengrün, und dazu funkelnd. Dieser Pyromorphit ist ein Dickicht gedrungener sechseckiger Tönnchen, jede Kristallfläche aufgeraut von einer zweiten Generation kleinerer, darauf gewachsener Kristalle – genau das zerlegt das Licht in so viele kleine Punkte. Die Farbe ist das scharfe Gelbgrün frischen Frühjahrslaubs, in den Mulden zwischen den Tönnchen dunkler, zur rechten Kante hin ins Mintfarbene verblassend.
Pyromorphit ist ein Blei-Chlorphosphat, Pb5(PO4)3Cl, und ein Sekundärmineral: Er wächst in den oxidierten oberen Zonen von Bleilagerstätten, aus den chemischen Trümmern des Bleiglanzes. Guangxi gehört zu den klassischen Quellen für Material in diesem hellen Grün. Die Art ist mit Mohs 3,5 bis 4 weich und die Kristallspitzen sind spröde – heben Sie das Stück an der Matrix an und halten Sie die Finger vom Bewuchs fern.
Die Platte misst 9,9 × 8,1 × 2,8 cm und wiegt 170 g. Sie ist mit weißer Klebemasse auf einem klaren Acrylblock befestigt und so geneigt, dass sich das Kristallfeld dem Betrachter zuwendet. Die Fotos entstanden an genau dieser Platte.
