Über diese Stufe
Wuzhou, Guangxi, rhodochrosite at 3.2 cm and 17 g; a miniature with warm colour.
Rhodochrosite is manganese carbonate, and its raspberry-to-rose colour is entirely natural; Chinese material from Guangxi and Inner Mongolia has become a collector favourite.
Guangxi's Daoping and Yangshuo districts produce the green pyromorphite, plumbogummite and calcite that made the province famous among collectors.
Dimensions place it in the miniature range, 3.2 × 2.8 × 1.5 cm (1.26 × 1.10 × 0.59 in) and 17 g (0.6 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Carbonate: never clean with acid or vinegar.
Every specimen here is photographed and catalogued individually before listing.
