Stibnit-Büschel fächern über eine anthrazitfarbene Matrix wie angerissene Streichhölzer, jede Klinge abgeflacht, der Länge nach tief gestreift und in blankem blaustählernem Spiegel endend. Der größte Fächer öffnet sich über dem oberen Drittel des Stücks; kleinere Rosetten wiederholen die Geste an der linken Kante und noch einmal unten rechts, sodass das Auge beim Wandern über die Oberfläche immer neue Ausbrüche findet.
Antimonsulfid, Sb2S3 – Hunan ist die Provinz, an die Sammler bei dieser Art zuerst denken, und Klingengruppen wie diese sind der Grund dafür. Stibnit hat Mohs 2 und ist weicher als ein Fingernagel: Die Leisten biegen sich und brechen bei geringstem Anlass, und die Spiegelfläche stumpft dort ab, wo Hautfett sie berührt. Fassen Sie die Matrix an, nie die Kristalle, und halten Sie das Stück aus direkter Sonne, die den Glanz mit der Zeit vergraut.
