Über diese Stufe
Yunnan veszelyite at 7.1 cm and 49 g; a thin small cabinet plate of a rare copper phosphate.
Veszelyite is a rare hydrated copper-zinc phosphate that forms deep blue to blue-green crystals; the Laochang district of Yunnan is the best-known modern source.
Yunnan's copper and lead-zinc districts produce the azurite, malachite, pyromorphite, hemimorphite and blue aragonite that define Chinese secondary minerals.
The piece is small cabinet in size, 7.1 × 3.9 × 1.3 cm (2.80 × 1.54 × 0.51 in) and 49 g (1.7 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Copper mineral: avoid dust, wash hands after handling.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
