Über diese Stufe
Zwei Calcitkristalle treffen hier in scharfem Winkel aufeinander, der eine steht aufrecht in blass rosa-klarem Glas, der andere ist als flacher Keil zur Seite hinausgeworfen. In diesem Keil schwebt eine olivgrüne Feder, an den Rändern gefiedert und rostorange verfärbt, wo sie die Kristallwand berührt, durch den Calcit hindurch so deutlich lesbar, als läge sie zwischen zwei Glasscheiben. Beide erheben sich von einer ziegelorangen Krustenknolle, die von Mikrokristallen bepelzt ist.
Ein Einschluss ordnet seine eigene Chronologie: Das grüne Material saß bereits im Hohlraum, als der Calcit zu wachsen begann, und der Kristall schloss sich darum, sodass eine Feder des einen Minerals im anderen versiegelt wurde. Bearbeitet ist daran nichts – die Zwillingsflächen und der Keil sind natürliches Wachstum. Calcit ist weich, Mohs 3 mit drei vollkommenen Spaltrichtungen, und deshalb ist ein derart sauber eingeschlossener Kristall ein größerer Glücksfall, als er aussieht.
Klein und leicht: 3,6 × 1,5 × 2,8 cm, 10 g, mit Klebeknete auf dem abgebildeten klaren Acrylblock aufgesetzt, der mitgeliefert wird. Der Kristall auf diesen Fotos ist der Kristall, der versandt wird.
