Über diese Stufe
Jiangxi yellow baryte with fluorite at 6.3 cm and 95 g; a small cabinet piece. A smooth, rounded brown fluorite ball with a cluster of golden-yellow, transparent baryte blades growing from its side.
Baryte is a collector staple from Chinese lead-zinc and fluorite deposits, where it forms crisp tabular crystals alongside fluorite and calcite.
Jiangxi's tungsten mines, Xihuashan and Piaotang among them, are the classic source of wolframite, scheelite, baryte, fluorite and calcite specimens.
Dimensions place it in the small cabinet range, 6.3 × 4.8 × 3 cm (2.48 × 1.89 × 1.18 in) and 95 g (3.4 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
