Un amonites abierto como un libro: este par de mitades cortadas y pulidas, perfectamente iguales, procedente de Mahajanga, Madagascar, convierte una concha del Cretácico en dos piezas de exposición especulares. Cada cámara que construyó el animal es hoy su propia geoda en miniatura —unas tapizadas de cristales de calcita color miel, otras con el fondo de sedimento rojo óxido— envuelta en paredes agatizadas que se pulen hasta el caramelo y la crema.
Las vueltas internas de la espiral se mantienen nítidas en el centro de cada mitad, de modo que el par se lee a la vez como historia natural —la arquitectura de un molusco de 100 millones de años vista en sección— y como un conjunto a juego ya listo para una estantería o un escritorio.
El conjunto mide en total unos 11,9 × 3,6 × 13,7 cm y pesa 471 g. Ambas mitades se envían juntas; las fotografías muestran el par exacto.
