Sobre este espécimen
Sichuan garden quartz with epidote at 15 g; a miniature with a vertical accent. A clear quartz spire with a smaller crystal beside it, rising from a base of dark green epidote with a green cluster at the foot.
Garden quartz (lodolite) carries inclusions of chlorite and iron minerals that build miniature landscapes inside the crystal.
Epidote's deep pistachio to olive green and striated prism faces separate it from prehnite. Quartz is the most collected mineral on earth for good reason: sharp hexagonal prisms, bright terminations and endless variation between localities.
Sichuan hosts Xuebaoding, Jinkouhe and Leshan, sources of aquamarine, scheelite, prehnite, gypsum and the epidote-quartz skarn specimens seen here.
Dimensions place it in the miniature range, 4 × 3.2 × 2.5 cm (1.57 × 1.26 × 0.98 in) and 15 g (0.5 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
