Sobre este espécimen
La paleta de este grupo de Yaogangxian es la del invierno: cubos de fluorita azul hielo, casi incoloros en las aristas y de un gris lavanda ahumado en profundidad, medio envueltos en una nevada centelleante de dolomita blanca. Allí donde el espolvoreado se abre, las caras vítreas de los cubos asoman limpias, y finas puntas de cuarzo destellan por debajo.
La mayor parte de la fluorita de Yaogangxian se vende por su color intenso; esta pieza trabaja el registro opuesto —sutileza, transparencia y escarcha— y el material pálido con aristas de cristal tan limpias se pasa fácilmente por alto en la mina y rara vez llega a ofrecerse. Obsérvela de cerca y las zonas interiores ahumadas le darán una profundidad sorprendente.
El grupo mide 6,1 × 5,8 × 6,9 cm y pesa 196 g, y se expone en vertical sobre la base de acrílico incluida. Procede de la mina de Yaogangxian, Chenzhou, Hunan. Las fotografías documentan este espécimen exacto.
