Sobre este espécimen

Jiangxi green fluorite with quartz and pyrite at 179 g; a small cabinet piece with a fresh colour.

Chinese fluorite has become a staple of modern collections for its sharp crystal faces, strong colour and a lustre that reads well from across the room.

Rock crystal is judged on termination quality, clarity and how the crystals sit together, and the Chinese localities have raised the bar on all three. Pyrite is the most collected metallic mineral, and the best pieces combine sharp form with a lustre that has not dulled; store it dry to keep it that way.

Jiangxi is China's tungsten province; its mines have yielded wolframite, scheelite and fluorite specimens of world standard for decades.

Dimensions place it in the small cabinet range, 7.5 × 5.7 × 3 cm (2.95 × 2.24 × 1.18 in) and 179 g (6.3 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.

Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
