Sobre este espécimen
Cubos azul hielo coronan la parte superior izquierda de esta pieza de Yaogangxian, descendiendo en terrazas someras desde un borde tan pálido que resulta casi incoloro. Por debajo y por detrás, la fluorita vira a un lavanda suave y se mantiene translúcida, con un violeta ahumado que asoma desde el interior. Un cristal de cuarzo transparente como el agua se inclina hacia fuera por la parte trasera, y rosetas de mica leonada se adhieren al hombro derecho como pequeñas flores secas.
Dos colores en un mismo cristal, y la frontera entre ellos es nítida: las zonas azules y violetas de la fluorita proceden de defectos distintos de la red, y un ejemplar que lleva ambas registra un cambio real del fluido a mitad del crecimiento. Yaogangxian, en Hunan, se explota principalmente por el wolframio, y su fluorita llega con regularidad acompañada de cuarzo transparente y mica pálida. Dureza 4 en la escala de Mohs, así que las esquinas de los cubos son la parte vulnerable.
