Sobre este espécimen

Fujian dodecahedral fluorite with pyrite and quartz at 70 g; a small cabinet piece with a rarer fluorite form.

Fluorite crystallises in the cubic system and is prized for its saturated colour, glassy lustre and the way zoned phantoms appear when the crystals are back-lit.

Pyrite is the most collected metallic mineral, and the best pieces combine sharp form with a lustre that has not dulled; store it dry to keep it that way. Rock crystal is judged on termination quality, clarity and how the crystals sit together, and the Chinese localities have raised the bar on all three.

Fujian is China's most productive fluorite province, and its granite-hosted veins also yield the garnet, quartz and calcite that fill modern collections.

By size it is small cabinet, 5.5 × 3.8 × 2.8 cm (2.17 × 1.50 × 1.10 in) and 70 g (2.5 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.

Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
