La malachite verde foresta si raccoglie su questo esemplare congolese in decine di sfere arrotondate dalla superficie vellutata, ciascuna costruita da fibre setose raggianti che scintillano quando la luce le sfiora radente, e si arrampica su un piedistallo di quarzo druso beige come muschio che invade un muro.
La malachite botrioidale è la forma più tattile della specie, e lo scintillio delle terminazioni fibrose intatte è il segno di un materiale integro e non lavorato: basta lucidare o ammaccare la superficie perché quello scintillio sparisca. La cintura del rame della Repubblica Democratica del Congo è la fonte di riferimento mondiale, e questo pezzo ne spiega il motivo.
