Nigerian daylight fluorite with pyrite at 160 g; a small cabinet piece with the colour-change type.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Pyrite grows as cubes, pyritohedra and octahedra with a brassy metallic lustre; Chinese pyrite is known for sharp, mirror-faced crystals.
Nigeria's pegmatites in Nasarawa and Kaduna states produce tourmaline, beryl, topaz and garnet.
The piece is small cabinet in size, 6.8 × 5.8 × 3.7 cm (2.68 × 2.28 × 1.46 in) and 160 g (5.6 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
