A single large, dark red-brown sphalerite crystal with a glassy lustre, about 3 cm across, sits at the centre of a plate of red-brown quartz druse dotted with small silver galena crystals. The sphalerite glows red when back-lit.
Hunan gem sphalerite with galena at 754 g; a display plate with the main crystal larger than most. Lead sulfide present.
It weighs 754 g (26.6 oz), a large cabinet-sized piece that is a statement piece for a display case or mantel. Sold exactly as photographed; any known repair, mount, treatment or condition note is disclosed in this listing.
