この標本について
ガラス質の蛍石の立方体が、瑶崗仙産の淡い花崗岩質の岩塊の上に載っています。見どころは内部です。濃い緑の緑泥石が雲のような層をなして結晶のなかを漂い、あとからの成長に封じ込められています。外縁にはうっすらと菫色の帯。緑泥石が薄いところでは、蛍石を通して文字が読めるほど澄んでいます。
緑泥石を取り込んだ蛍石は、この鉱山の控えめな得意分野です。濃い紫のように声高ではありませんが、どの結晶も成長の履歴をはっきりと残しています。結晶化の途中で捉えられた緑の鉱物が、ガラスのなかに額装されているのです。
サイズは6.0 × 5.1 × 4.8 cm、重量110 g。写真のアクリル台に載せています。天然のままで処理はしていません。写真はお届けする現品です。
