Zhejiang purple-framed green fluorite with quartz at 30 g; a miniature with one focal crystal.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Quartz is the most collected mineral on earth for good reason: sharp hexagonal prisms, bright terminations and endless variation between localities.
Zhejiang's Jiangshan and Qingtian districts are known for babingtonite, prehnite, fluorite and quartz from volcanic-hosted veins.
Dimensions place it in the miniature range, 3.9 × 2.9 × 2.5 cm (1.54 × 1.14 × 0.98 in) and 30 g (1.1 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
