Inner Mongolia iridescent purple-framed fluorite at 35 g; a miniature that shifts colour with the light.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Inner Mongolia's Huanggang and Chifeng districts produce fluorite, calcite, garnet and rhodochrosite in a lustre and clarity that set the modern standard for Chinese carbonates.
By size it is miniature, 3.9 × 3.2 × 2.2 cm (1.54 × 1.26 × 0.87 in) and 35 g (1.2 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
