この標本について
Shangbao, Hunan, pyrite at 12.5 cm and 742 g; a large cabinet piece. Keep dry. A tall block of white crystalline matrix with brassy pyrite crystals set into it, the largest cube-like crystals at the centre and a rusty patch below them.
Iron sulfide with a brass-gold colour, pyrite is heavy, bright and geometrically satisfying, with striated faces on the best crystals.
Hunan's tungsten-tin and lead-zinc mines have supplied the world with fluorite, calcite, quartz and sulfide specimens since the 1990s.
The piece is large cabinet in size, 12.5 × 8 × 8 cm (4.92 × 3.15 × 3.15 in) and 742 g (26.2 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
