Guizhou purple-edged QR-code fluorite with quartz at 12.5 cm; a large cabinet piece with a distinctive surface pattern.
Fluorite crystallises in the cubic system and is prized for its saturated colour, glassy lustre and the way zoned phantoms appear when the crystals are back-lit.
Quartz is the most collected mineral on earth for good reason: sharp hexagonal prisms, bright terminations and endless variation between localities.
Guizhou is the source of the collector creedite and hosts important fluorite, calcite and copper-mineral localities around Qinglong.
Dimensions place it in the large cabinet range, 12.5 × 9.1 × 5.3 cm (4.92 × 3.58 × 2.09 in) and 729 g (25.7 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
