석영 로제트가 이 결정군의 윗면 여기저기에서 작은 흰 별빛처럼 피어나며, 맑고 뾰족한 결정이 다발에 다발을 이어 갑니다. 바탕은 전혀 다른 세계입니다. 어두운 섬아연석이 깨진 면에서 강철처럼 밝게 빛나고, 놋쇠빛 노란 황화 광물 결정과 황갈색 탄산염 얼룩이 군데군데 박혀 있습니다.
꽃 모양은 섬아연석이 아니라 석영의 것입니다. 가느다란 주상 결정이 방사상으로 모여 황화 광물 표면에 자리를 잡고 사방으로 동시에 뻗어 나갔습니다. 이 표본을 살아나게 하는 대비는 섬아연석(ZnS)이 만듭니다. 수지광택에서 거의 금강광택에 가까운 광택, 모스 경도 3.5에서 4, 그리고 여섯 방향의 완전한 벽개를 지녀 경도 7의 석영보다 훨씬 약합니다. 결정 다발을 쥐지 말고 아래에서 받쳐 드십시오.
