장시성 더싱에서 나온 이 작은 표본은 거의 전부가 흽니다. 무색의 미세한 석영 결정이 빽빽하게 뭉쳐 설탕처럼 보이는 돔 형태의 껍질을 이룹니다. 그 껍질 중앙에서 조금 오른쪽에 짙은 회색 섬아연석 덩어리가 박혀 있고, 그 위에 서너 개의 놋쇠빛 금색 결정이 얹혀 있습니다. 3.6 × 1.5 × 2.8 cm, 20 g입니다.

이 표본에 대하여
장시성 더싱에서 나온 이 작은 표본은 거의 전부가 흽니다. 무색의 미세한 석영 결정이 이룬 돔 형태의 껍질이 윗면 전체를 덮고 있으며, 팔 길이만큼 떨어져 보면 쏟아 놓은 설탕처럼 보일 만큼 촘촘합니다. 그 껍질 안, 중앙에서 조금 오른쪽에 섬아연석이 자리합니다. 렌즈콩보다 크지 않은 짙은 회색 금속광택 결정 덩어리이며, 그 위에 얹힌 서너 개의 놋쇠빛 금색 결정이 이 표본에서 유일하게 따뜻한 색을 냅니다.
섬아연석은 황화아연 ZnS이며, 색이 짙을수록 구조 안에 철이 더 많이 들어 있습니다. 여기 보이는 거의 검고 아금속광택을 띠는 물질은 그 범위에서 철이 풍부한 쪽이며, 꿀빛 갈색의 보석 변종이 아닙니다. 모스 경도 3.5에서 4에 여섯 방향으로 완전한 쪼개짐을 가지는데, 좋은 결정이 모서리에 상처를 입은 채 도착하는 일이 잦은 이유가 바로 여기 있습니다. 장시성의 더싱은 중국의 큰 구리 광산 지대 가운데 하나이며, 이곳의 황화광물은 바로 이런 옅은 규산질 껍질 위에 산출됩니다.
