Diep koningsblauw azuriet loopt in suikerfijne korsten over dit stuk, geeft vanuit elke hoek lichtflitsen terug en verdonkert in de schaduwplooien tot bijna zwart. Groene vezelige plukjes – malachiet, mogelijk chrysocolla – groeien langs de ribbels en in een open holte rechts, waar een ader van okerbruin ijzeroxide dwars door het blauw snijdt.
Azuriet en malachiet zijn allebei basische kopercarbonaten, en het groen is doorgaans de opvolger van het blauw: azuriet neemt over geologische tijd water op en gaat over in malachiet, zodat een stuk als dit die reactie halverwege vastlegt. Beide zijn zacht, 3,5–4 op de schaal van Mohs, en azuriet gedijt het best uit de buurt van langdurig direct zonlicht. De vindplaats is niet bevestigd en de groene soort is niet getest, dus staan beide als open vragen vermeld in plaats van als gok.
