Een breed zwart Ilvaiet kristal heeft sterke lengte ribbels en een oneffen bovenrand. Kleine lichtkwartsgebieden onderbreken de donkere gezichten, met hedenbergite ook opgenomen in de bron associatie. De tweede hoek onthult de dunnere kant van het specimen en een lichtgekleurd kristal dat vlakbij het midden projecteert. Fijne groeven blijven langs een groot deel van het zwarte oppervlak, waardoor een verticaal structurerend uiterlijk ontstaat dat contrasteert met de kleine gladde bleke gebieden en het ruwe contactmateriaal aan de bovenkant.
