Over dit exemplaar
Yaogangxian quartz with purple-heart fluorite at 70 g; a small cabinet piece with a strong single crystal.
Good quartz is about hexagonal prisms with clean terminations and the glassy lustre that lets a cluster catch light from every angle.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Few localities carry the weight of Yaogangxian: a Hunan tungsten mine whose fluorite, quartz, arsenopyrite and pyrite specimens sit in every serious collection.
The piece is small cabinet in size, 7.4 × 3.2 × 2.9 cm (2.91 × 1.26 × 1.14 in) and 70 g (2.5 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
