骸晶生长发生在晶体的棱边长得比晶面更快时——这是快速结晶的标志——收藏家对这种形态的方铅矿的重视远高于常见的实心立方体。 蓝色的金属、金色的硫化物与透明的石英构成三方对比，在小型标本的尺寸上仍有十足的存在感。
