A cabinet-size mass of bronze pyrrhotite crystals in flat hexagonal plates stacked and fanned like a spill of coins, with brassy chalcopyrite grains and small clear quartz crystals filling the gaps. The plates have a satin metallic lustre.
Inner Mongolia pyrrhotite at 485 g with the hexagonal plate habit clearly developed; weakly magnetic, and it should be kept dry to hold its lustre.
