石膏的化學式是 CaSO4·2H2O，硬度僅莫氏 2：指甲就能劃出痕跡，溫水則會慢慢把它拆解。這種爆米花晶習形成於礦物自薄薄的溶液膜中快速沉澱、而非自由生長成晶體的環境，因此您手上拿著的是由無數細小顆粒組成的結殼，而不是幾片大型板狀晶體。請保持乾燥，除塵時用吹氣而非布擦。
