將晶體轉向光源，內部便化作一列紫羅蘭色的階梯。深紫色的生長帶自各個稜角向內層層推進，呈現尺規般筆直的階地狀線條，每一條都記錄著昔日某個立方體晶面所在的位置；它們懸浮在通透得足以一眼望穿另一側的晶體之中。一層淺橄欖乳色的碳酸鹽薄殼緊附在左側，並在右緣再度出現。
這是以剖面而非輪廓呈現的幻影：一層又一層的紫色螢石，被後期無色生長層封存於內。由於整件標本本質上是一顆大晶體而非晶簇，完整的生長史便清晰可讀地收在同一顆晶體之中。螢石具完全的八面體解理，一次重擊便會從稜角崩下一枚三角形薄片，因此請從下方托住，切勿捏握稜邊。
體型精巧，4.6 × 4.1 × 3.6 cm、75 g。照片僅拍攝這顆晶體；它將連同其下方所見的透明壓克力座一同送達。
