薄荷綠的螢石立方體密集聚成一頂圓拱狀傘蓋，懸出在自身的母岩柄之外，那副蘑菇的模樣讓人難以擺脫。立方體透明，稜邊層層退成淺淺的階梯，底下的紫灰色白雲石柱則呈粒狀而無光澤——這樣的對比，是晶洞自己安排好的。
香花嶺是錫多金屬礦區，當地螢石偏向這類柔和的綠色與麥稈黃，而不是湖南其他礦山的深紫；右緣幾顆褐黃色晶體正帶著那抹黃調。這樣的階梯狀生長，發生在晶體稜邊推進速度快於晶面之時，使每一顆立方體都微微內凹。莫氏硬度 4，傘蓋碰上任何更硬的東西都會刮傷，因此請握住母岩取放。
