白色石英自外向內鋪滿這件浙江標本，數百顆清澈如水的小晶尖擠滿了下半部與兩側。越過它們，螢石便顯現出來：淡海綠色的立方體層層堆疊，其中好幾顆的晶角覆著濃密的紫羅蘭色，沿頂緣幾乎深到墨色。兩種礦物合在一起，收攏成一個粗略的心形輪廓。
浙江向來習慣讓螢石與大量後期到來的石英作伴，而這樣的組合既好看也實用——螢石（CaF2）僅有莫氏硬度 4 並具完全的八面體解理，晶角一經碰撞便會崩缺，而在四周守衛的石英則是莫氏硬度 7。綠色與紫色的分帶記錄著晶體所生長流體的變化，色彩是一面一面地鋪陳下來的。
