Zhejiang Province
Zhejiang, China
Zhejiang Province, eastern China — known for transparent green and blue cubic fluorite and distinctive petal calcite clusters.
Zhejiang — coastal fluorite in glassy cubes
Zhejiang Province on China's east coast hosts epithermal fluorite veins in Mesozoic volcanic terrane — the same broad setting as neighboring Fujian — plus carbonate pockets that produce the locality's distinctive "petal" calcite.
What Zhejiang is known for
- Transparent green cubic fluorite with glassy faces
- Blue cubic fluorite
- Banded "lollipop" purple fluorite forms
- Petal calcite clusters with pyrite
Typical specimen style
Clarity-driven fluorite — diamond-clear cubes where color zoning shows in clean bands — and sculptural calcite with metallic pyrite accents.
Collector value
Zhejiang trades below Hunan on name recognition; the best gem-clear cubes compete well above their price point. Petal calcite pieces are conversation specimens.

The Wuyi fluorite field
Zhejiang's fluorite centres on the Wuyi ore field in Jinhua — including mines such as Yangjia and Yushantou — a large hydrothermal vein system in volcanic rock celebrated for richly zoned, multi-stage crystals: sea-green cores rimmed by blue and purple and capped by colourless growth, each band recording a fresh pulse of mineralising fluid.
