China — the modern center of collector mineralogy
Over the past three decades China has become the most important source country in mineral collecting, producing world-benchmark fluorite, stibnite, scheelite, and calcite alongside dozens of specialty finds. This page gathers specimens whose Chinese origin is confirmed but which haven't yet been assigned to one of our dedicated locality pages.
Dedicated Chinese locality pages
- Hunan — Yaogangxian, Xianghualing, Shangbao, Lengshuijiang
- Xuebaoding, Sichuan — scheelite and aquamarine
- Daye, Hubei — collector calcite
- Guizhou — purple fluorite and gypsum flowers
- Yunnan — hemimorphite and carbonate classics
- Inner Mongolia — phantom and red fluorite
- Jiangxi, Fujian, Zhejiang, Anhui, Yangchun — provincial specialties
Typical specimen style
Cross-province selection: expect fluorite in every color family, carbonates from skarn and hydrothermal systems, and sulfides with intact crystal habits. Pieces move to a dedicated locality page as soon as their source is pinned down.
