一件淡紫色螢石的穹頂狀集合體，由數十顆立方體肩並肩緊密堆疊而成，輪廓讀來幾近球形。光線自前方晶面進入，才走了幾毫米便停下，於是表面是柔柔地發亮，而非閃爍；中央附近數顆晶體帶著較深的紫色核心，而底部集合體與寄主岩分離之處，則露出一顆飽和的紫色晶體。
湖南瑤崗仙產出的螢石涵蓋整個紫色譜系，而像這樣安靜的乳白淡紫色集合體，坐落在其中最溫柔的一端——顏色來自 CaF2 晶格中的缺陷，而非任何隨行的色素礦物。螢石莫氏硬度 4，在四個八面體方向上具完美解理，因此請托住底面拿取，並避免與較硬的標本同置一屜。
晶簇尺寸為 3.6 × 2.3 × 3.3 cm，重 45 g，拍攝於透明壓克力方塊上，並墊有一團白色博物館黏土。照片如實拍下它現在的模樣，這座圓穹就是您將擁有的那一件。
