「霜」是看到它的第一個字。在連續一層細如砂糖的白色晶簇底下，層層堆疊的螢石立方輪廓依然完全清晰可辨——霜衣較薄之處透出淡淡的海綠色，晶體位置較深處則轉為煙灰紫——另有一道較厚的晶簇堆積橫過板面中央，隆起成一道低矮的丘。
這樣的後期覆蓋在福建的晶洞中相當常見：螢石先行生長，隨後最末一波富矽流體為每一個外露的晶面撲上石英微晶。結果它同時具備兩種礦物的性格——散射光線的霧面晶簇外皮，覆在底下玻璃質的 CaF2 本體之上。螢石莫氏硬度 4，具完全的八面體解理，因此請讓板緣遠離碰撞。
板體為 6.0 × 5.5 × 3.0 cm，重 170 g，大小恰好可置於掌中，照片以手持於灰色背景前拍攝，不附底座。這些影像拍自您將收到的那一件標本。
