關於此標本
差不多就是一層霜。一座階梯狀的淺薰衣草色螢石丘，每一面都被緻密的細小無色石英晶體覆滿，底下的形狀化作柔和的層階透出來，表面本身則像粗砂糖一樣閃爍。左下方一處覆膜較薄的地方，留下了一塊灰綠色礦物。
這裡疊著兩代生長。螢石先來，奠定了整體結構；石英隨後由較冷、富含矽質的熱液帶來，用微小的晶端把整個表面鋪成鵝卵石般的顆粒。硬度上的差異在拿取時很重要——石英外衣莫氏硬度 7，不怕灰塵；但底下的螢石只有 4，且具完全的八面體解理，所以這件標本遠比它粗獷的外表所暗示的要脆弱得多。
尺寸 5.1 cm × 2.8 cm × 5.1 cm，重 75 g，拍攝時手持，不附底座或支架。這件福建標本本身、以及它此刻的品相，就是實際出貨的那一件。
