關於此標本
海綠色的螢石立方體在這件福建晶簇的頂部交錯咬合，多數晶體內部含著一枚煙灰色核心，透過外層較淺的色帶顯現，宛如懸在玻璃裡的一團陰影。晶面由水潤明亮到略帶霜面不等，整叢生長坐落在一條深灰色的圍岩帶上。
這種色帶分區是晶體生長流體留下的紀錄：隨著化學組成與溫度變化，色心時開時關，而每一階段又被下一階段封存起來，於是單顆立方體就能在綠色的外殼裡收著一顆灰色的心。螢石（CaF2）摩氏硬度 4，具完全的八面體解理，軟到一次不慎碰撞就會乾淨俐落地帶走一個晶角，而不只是留下擦傷。
上手厚實，9.4 × 6.6 × 5.6 cm、重 385 g，未配底座。照片與實物為同一件晶簇。
