光線能在這一件裡走上好幾毫米才耗盡。整顆頭都是柔和的青瓷綠，後顱處最濃，往臉部逐漸轉淡；表面則不斷在兩種狀態之間交替——解理面層層錯落之處是霜糖般的粗面，眼窩、鼻部與牙齒則是打磨得光順的加工面。顱骨的一側肩部近乎白色——那是雕刻恰好開出的一道生長分帶。
這類綠色螢石的顏色，來自鎖在 CaF2 晶格中的缺陷與微量雜質，而非某一種單一致色元素，這正是為什麼同一塊石料裡的色調會在不同區帶之間游移。請讓它遠離帶砂粒的層架：莫氏硬度 4，打磨過的區域很容易留下痕跡，而四個方向的解理貫穿其中，最該避免的就是下顎挨上一記磕碰。
