關於此標本
這塊貴州板上最大的一顆螢石，晶面像一張印出來的網格：深紫色的方塊與長方塊在較淡的底色上微微凸起，方正而突兀，任誰拿起它都會說出同樣的兩個字母。上方第二顆立方以幾乎同樣的尺寸重複這個圖案，右側第三顆只有一半大小，一道紫色的碎屑則在它們之間、越過乳白色的糖霜狀硬殼延伸而去。
這片網格是蝕像。立方晶體長成之後，後期流體不均勻地侵蝕它們，沿著內部的生長區塊溶解，留下較耐蝕的部分凸起——溶蝕作用是順著晶體自身的構造行事，而非與之作對。白色的覆毯是隨後才到的，並止步於螢石頂面之前，這正是紫色對比如此強烈的原因。螢石莫氏硬度 4：請用軟毛刷，並且別讓溶劑碰到那片有紋理的表面。
板體為 6.9 × 2.3 × 4.1 cm，重 50 g，倚著較厚的棕褐色邊緣即可站立，不附底座。所有影像都拍自這塊板本身，絕無替換。
