關於此標本
數百顆細小的橙色晶體擠滿這塊摩洛哥標本板，每一顆都是幾毫米見方的矮胖塊體，肩並肩排列到整個表面看起來像一層連續的外殼。顏色從外側晶面明亮的橘紅，過渡到晶體緊貼下方赭色結殼處的紅棕，而每一個晶體終端都反射出堅硬的玻璃光點。
鉬鉛礦是鉬酸鉛，化學式 PbMoO4：體積雖小卻沉手，硬度僅莫氏 3。像這樣的密集堆擠，發生在晶體成核速度快過其鋪展速度的時候，於是得到的不是幾片寬闊的板狀晶，而是由數百顆小晶體組成的鑲嵌面。請托著底座拿取，避開粗糙表面，清潔時也不要使用比軟毛刷更粗的工具。
標本板尺寸 4.1 × 3.3 × 1.5 cm，重 55 g。出貨狀態與照片完全一致，以白色黏土固定在照片中的透明壓克力方塊上。
